Ready, Set, GO!
Running along row after row of glorious lavender was a great memory from our amazing Tasmania adventures!

Bridestowe Lavender Estate is one of the worlds largest privately owned Lavender Farms and is well worth a visit if you are planning a visit to Tassie. With an estimated 650,000 plants over 260 acres you are greeted with an amazing view as you drive into the carpark.

Our Mini Blondies, Marli and Ziggy had a ball as we chased them up and down the rows of lavender that had been planted in the most vibrant red dirt we have seen! This dirt, of course, ended up all over their hands and clothes!! ..but all in the name of fun right?!

At the time of our visit the lavender was about 2 weeks away from ‘full bloom’, so we were lucky to see small flower buds on the plants which even then provided the most beautiful perfume.

Known for its innovative practices, Bridestowe plants their crops in curved rows to make the most of the rainfall as well as help reduce erosion… this practice also makes for some great photos so don’t forget your camera!

Once we all ran out of puff we made our way back to peruse the lovely gift shop and enjoy some morning tea in the cafe which yep you guessed it, featured a serve of lavender Scones with lavender tea!!!

The Blonde Nomads are currently ‘Lapping Oz’ in their Jayco Caravan – you can follow them via Facebook and Instagram, and find great travel tips on their blog www.theblondenomads.com.au
