Riverglen Holiday Park

Another week, another holiday park review from Caravanning with Kids! I’m so excited to share with you the great experience we had at the Riverglen Holiday Park. From the first call to book our stay, to the final wave as we left, the service from the Park owners and staff was faultless. riverglen holiday parkWord of mouth is a powerful business tool and our friends have stayed at this park for the same holiday five years in a row. The reason they raved about it to us, other than the service and location, was that they don’t inflate their rates for public holidays – a refreshing approach in a money-driven world! Wayne and I were lucky to have a long weekend escape planned without our little girls for the Geelong Outdoor Living show, which was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect and enjoy this holiday park through adult eyes, especially after we’d heard so many great things about it!

Let me tell you what we loved – so many things, our friends were definitely right! This park oozed authenticity, it’s a traditional true caravan park with no flashy bells and whistles, but everything that you could need and want to have a great stay in a prime location.

The sites were comfortably shaded and opposite a massive park (that the kids would have adored), or – if you are so inclined – that couples can exercise in or go for a walk. The complex is situated on the beautiful Barwin River, it’s location is central, only 10 minutes from Geelong CBD and the beautiful foreshore so you are well positioned to explore the area as well as head to restaurants and cafes if you’d like to dine out.

As a family run business ourselves we can totally appreciate the warm touches that self-ownership brings. Riverglen Holiday Park is family owned and their pride and focus really shines through…we LOVE this and love supporting this type of park. (Group hugs and high fives to all the family owned businesses!) Our research saw us learn that the owners have been at Riverglen for almost 20 years! Wow… It’s very much a family run operation with the extended family all being part of the team.

The family’s commitment has seen this business boom, only 20 years ago this park was just 12 cabins, 10 sites and 8 ensuite sites but today Riverglen is now 125 cabins, 8 ensuite sites and 50 sites. Their success is testament to hard work, family team work and exceptional customer service. Riverglen Holiday Park boasts two swimming pools, a jumping pillow, modern free BBQ areas, a colourful kids playground, a coin operated laundry, WIFI and two campers kitchens. We’ll definitely be back to this hidden gem – we encourage you to explore it as well!
